6 DAYS

Like this?
People take six days to make a sand mandala,  and then they sweep it up and put it in the sea.
I wouldn't want to do that.......

Today we made mandalas NOT that kind of mandala

This kind
looks complicated....
It's not
Each line has to be the same,  and do not over-think it.... do the first thing that comes in to mind
You start from the seed which is the middle and make your way out to the edges.

Till next time bye

Internet

Did you know when you put something on the internet you will never be able to get it back and every one can see it?

Today we learnt about the internet and how when you put something on the internet you can never take it off, it would affect your reputation when you are older.  Like on facebook, if you put something on facebook and your friend likes it, it goes to their friends, if their friends like it, it goes to their friends, you get the point.

So you need to check what you put on the internet because it will stay there forever.

"I try to apply colors like words that shape poems like notes that shape music"(http://joanmiro.com)

That is one of the many quotes that Joan Miro used to say. Why did I add this in? Well if you haven't heard, at Enrich we have been doing affective studies which is when we choose a person who fits all three points of being gifted.  So I chose Joan Miro. He has creativity CHECK,  task commitment CHECK, and above average ability CHECK. I am doing this on an awesome website called Prezi here is a photo of one part on it.

Ok se you next term!  Matey Spike Barnacle over and out

PS Matey Spike Barnacle is my pirate name

PPS here is how you can figure out your pirate name!

The little pawn moves one tiny step. The invisible evil grin comes upon his face. We started the war of no blood. I take the fierce knight into the battle. He will come out dead or alive! Let's hope alive. More come out, one by one, some come out alive, others get killed trying to defeat others, but that was nothing compared to when the other team attacks. The Queen comes closer, taking a risky move, but then it shouts with joy 'CHECK MATE' 'Ahh' the other team says. They lost. They lost the war!

Pretty Snazzy...

"Umm, green yes green"

Hello today I for passion time did my sculpture. I know what your thinking... I was doing this last week, but today was different. "How cant be different?" I making a sculpture, same old same old? But it wasn't like that today, because I painted it."What colour?" Well green. But I didn't use a paint brush I used an air brush. "What's an air brush?" It is a machine that you put water in with a little bit of paint attached to the machine, then turn it on. "Easy!" Not! Me and Jemmimah tried to work it, but one thing was on to tight. but we got it at the end. So this is what it looks like. Pretty snazzy I know!

"Yuck, slimy glue"
Those were the words I
would use to describe the feeling of the glue that ran down the handy towels.

Last week, we FINISHED our i-Movie for the MADE Awards, so today, we got to start a passion project. Now, last year I started a dragon sculpture so, I decided to carry on with this. So, today I stuck little pieces of handy towels on to the body. Jemmimah helped me put them on since she didn't have anything to do at that particular moment.

Bye bye till next time!

Joan Miro

"Did you know that Joan Miro was only seven when he started to paint."

Today at Enrich we did our research projects on our gifted person for affective domain. I chose Joan Miro

I chose to make mine on a website called Prezi. Prezi is a great website to do different projects or just to sort out information

We also did talent development which is MADE awards. We finished woo hoo! So next week I think the MADE Award people will start a passion project. If we do I will probably finish my sculpture I started last year.

Voice-Over

"The first person to discover dry ice was a French chemist called Charles Thilorier in 1835. He looked inside a metal container with a large amount of liquid carbon dioxide in it and he wached it evaporate. As it evaporated, the temperature dropped and he noticed a chunk of solid dry ice in the bottom of the container."

Hello. Today we voiced over some of our amazing documentary. If you don't know what it is about, it is about dry ice.

We still have to add more footage on and edit it.  We've got 2.20 minutes at the moment, and we can have up to 5 minutes!

That's all for today. Bye.

Falling Babies!!!!!!!!

Babies lined up one by one. the stretcher moves - the babies don't make it - we were under attack.

Today we had a technology challenge to make a stretcher to hold four sugar babies. I was with Jemmimah, Cassie, ,Jacob and I.  We finish and we line our babies up, then lift. Oh-oh! Our handles fell off.  It was stronger when they were off but we had already failed.  How strong you ask? Well strong enough to hold me.

we only got 4 meters of string
2 news papers
unlimited tape
and scissors

The impossible is possible

Is it possible?

That one day we will use jet packs instead of cars?

Have birthday parties in space?

You will be rich?

You will climb Mount Everest

You will be famous

It could be possible because the first computer was as big as a kids bedroom and look how small they are now and cellphones were bigger than they are now.So anything can happen because technology gets even better and if you do something to make it happen.  Things happen when people don't expect it like rich people, people who have climbed Mount Everest and famous people you could be one of them who knows!!!!!!

Thats all for today, bye.

Chipmunk

hello
HELLO
HeLlO
hhheeeelllllllllllllloooooo

Today at MADE Awards, we went onto our practice movie and learnt how to change the vOiCeS of the people in the movie. There were heaps of different SoUnDs to pick. I picked the one that sounded like a chipmunk.

We also did voice-overs, which is when you can talk over the video, but the original voice in the video  would be silent, or taken away.

We also learnt how to add in an instant replay.

This was really fun today!

Human sandwich!

Hello! Today we did drama.

We did an activity called '10 Second Objects', (spatial drama). We were in a group and Nicola would call out an object that we had to make.  We didn't have any equipment to use, except ourselves!

We had to make:

  • A Saturday morning breakfast
  • A fire
  • A sandwich
  • A washing machine
  • A clock

We also did another drama activity called 'There is only one liar', (psychological drama).  We sat in a circle and closed our eyes.  Nicola went around and tapped someone on their shoulder.  Once she had gone round the circle, we had to open our eyes, and guess who was tapped on the shoulder, by pointing to the person.  Nicola did this twice.  The first time, she didn't tap anyone, so she was the liar.  The next time, she tapped everyone, but we all pointed at someone else, so we were the liars!!

Get me out of here!

Sometimes when you are tired or unorganised, even when you are worried you can find your self in
the pit. You might wake up in the morning all happy until you realise you haven't done your homework and you start panicking.

You can get out of the pit by asking someone for help, or telling someone about your problem.  It will start to get easier, but not if you keep it to yourself.

Don't stay in the pit because it will just get deeper and deeper and the problem won't go away.

MADE

"How about a mini science lab" asked Katie?

Hello, and welcome to my blog.
Today for MADE Awards, we changed our idea for our documentary.
"What to?" you ask. A mini science lab with fun experiments
which will appeal to children in Year 4-6 and it will also have lots of learning!

Pretty good idea, I know!
That's all for now. Bye.

Lord of the Rings...

Task commitment, Creativity and Above Average Ability are the three rings that I learnt about today!

I'm Natasha, in case you've never read my blogs!

Today we learnt about these three rings. Which form a model of giftedness according to a man named Renzulli!

First there is above average ability, which means you might be working at a higher level than your age.
Next there is creativity, which means you have unique ideas!
Lastly, there is task commitment, which means you must stay on task.

Renzulli believes that you need ALL 3 of these things to be gifted!

"Cause we belong together now yeah forever united here some how yeah you got a piece of me and honestly my life ( my life ) would suck ( would suck ) without you....."

Bonjour people who are reading this today, I had to put my singing cap on because I did music with the amazing Nicola.

The best part of it was when we sang the song, My life would suck without you by Kelly Clarkson!

We also did a cool worksheet to tell us how to draw different musical notes.

Bye happy easter for next week I made this photo by myself and  it was also made by Jemmimah

Thursday 14 March 2013

Hi people of the world I am Natasha and this is my blog

Today I went to enrich and we got to choose a thing to work on for part of the day out of music/singing, maths and sketching I did sketching  with Darryn.
First we learnt how to hold the pencil when doing it.
Then we got some chess pieces and got a piece of card.
After that we put the pieces in the place that we wanted them to go and started drawing 'til we had it looking the way we wanted.

Chess battle

"Yes again I got your piece out!"
"Damn it why did I do that?"
"How dumb of me letting you take
 my piece"
I had to be mad at Jemmimah for that!
Wow I realised next time I have my turn I can get her
Queen - I really hope she doesn't move it
"Yes" she didn't and I got her  Queen!
Jemmimah was mad at me now.
"Sorry Jemmimah."
"I had to to keep my self at 7th on the board" I thought .
"I hope you move your knight" and she did
"Yes yay I took all her players except one of her pawns
 and her King"
I'm going too take your last two pieces.
I got one, but at  the end it turned out to be a stalemate.
